We had our 1st judging at the end of June last year, even though the adjudicators can visit anonymously anytime from the 12th of June until mid August. Our aim this year is to retain our Gold Medal &amp; to be winners in our category. A local wheelchair user, Ann Burns, asked me to highlight some of the problems she faced and having seen what the Mayor of Navan Sinead Burke, did last year I decided to try out the paths and streets of Trim <span class=\"text_exposed_show\">from the view of a wheelchair user. We were joined by another wheelchair user, Frank Barry and Niamh Clavin of Prosper Meath whose offices are on High Street. \u201d Prosper Meath\u2019s objective is to make the lives of people with disabilities better. \u201c\u201cIt was an eye opener \u2013 situations that I would have just easily adapted to on two legs and not even given a second thought was a different proposition when faced on four wheels.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<iframe width=\"610\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Kl22vi7O5F8\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cllr. Ireland ir\u00a0holding a Business Expo in Trim GAA from 4-8pm with over 50 businesses registered so far to showcase what they have to offer. Headline speakers include <strong>International Rose of Tralee Elysha Brennan<\/strong> &amp;<strong>Gavin Duffy from Dragon\u2019s Den<\/strong>. The\u00a0finale will include a Trim Fashion Show with <strong>MC Mr Ireland, Karl Bowe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday 17<sup>th<\/sup> October, Bank of Ireland are holding a Sports &amp; Community Day from 11am-2pm showcasing all the sports, charity &amp; community groups that Trim has to offer. We will celebrate Trim\u2019s recent Entente Floral &amp; Tidy Towns awards, along with lots of family fun on the day- face-painting, games &amp; entertainment for kids. What does that say! It says that we are top standard in Europe.
